8 Questions with: Susie Ghahremani

I’ve known Susie Ghahremani so long that I can’t remember the first time I met her. It was probably in the early 2000s at an art show at Giant Robot, where I edited the magazine and she was contributing regularly to the art gallery. Since then, the RISD-trained San Diego resident has continued her skyward trajectory in the world of indie art and crafting, not only showing her work at creative spaces around the world but maintaining a fruitful relationship with Chronicle Books and more recently illustrating her first children’s book, What Will Hatch?

Did I mention that Susie has started playing in a dream pop band, Bulletins? Or that she took part in one of the very first Imprint Culture Labs and contributed a 20th anniversary tenugui design for Imprint’s sister company interTrend? I suppose this is where I’m supposed to make it clear that she and I are very good friends and that I am one of her biggest fans. So how could I not ask her to take part in my very first 8 Questions offerings? How could she not respond via amazing artwork?
