Dec 10, 2015 The Broad
On my recent trip to LA, I saw a banner for The Broad Museum while I was passing through the Arts District. I quickly made up my mind and headed straight for the museum. I only had an hour to spare during my lunch break so I was very eager to get in the art museum for free. I waited in line for about 15 minutes until they let a small group inside the building. Due to my limited time, I rushed to the third floor to see works from my favorite artists Jean Michel Basquiat and Takashi Murakami. I photographed all of Basquiat’s paintings because his Neo-Expressionist style is very intriguing to me. As you walk around, you will also see works from artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Barbara Kruger, and Jeff Koons. As I headed downstairs with couple minutes to spare, I wanted to check out Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room. Unfortunately the tickets were sold out due to limited capacity and the staff told me to try and book the tickets as soon as you arrive to the museum. Hopefully next time around I will have more time to view all the artworks and be able to experience the Infinity Room before they take it down February 2016. This place is definitely worth checking out!
