Grow a spine? No, print a spine. That’s exactly what experts have recently successfully accomplished. Doctors have been able to print vertebrae that was then fitted inside a patient. Before there was 3D printing technology available, doctors would have had to harvest bone elsewhere and attempt to recreate new vertebrae. But now all they are required to do is to take existing scans of a patient’s vertebrae and print them out, recreating an almost identical spine. There is comfort knowing that it is going to fit perfectly.
