Let Me Count the Waze

Let Me Count the Waze

It’s happening again. You know, that sinking feeling when the tech giants are circling around that addictive smartphone app you love so much; the one you think you can’t live without. First it happened with Instagram, and now it’s happening again with Waze. Our partner Jeff Staple put me onto this app about a year ago. He said it was amazing, and it is. It blows every other map app I’ve seen completely out of the water. It has brought some joy to my sometimes grueling 80 mile round-trip commute, an impressive feat in of itself. But even better, it is saving me time, showing me new routes through the megalopolis I navigate my way across daily, and helping me avoid traffic jams and other hazards. Last week, thanks to Waze, I discovered three “new” shortcuts between Long Beach and DTLA. All of which adds up to explain why, I hope that whoever ends up buying this Israeli startup keeps supplying us with this incredible free tool. Indefinitely. You keep supplying us with real-world helpful information, and I won’t complain that you eat my batteries and make my phone run freakishly hot. Deal?
