Sep 13, 2013 Garden Work
Thanks, in part, to our Architecture for Dogs project (in conjunction with design guru Kenya Hara) we’ve been paying extra-special close attention to Japanese architecture lately. And with our big sister company interTrend preparing to move into their newly renovated Psychic Temple digs in downtown LB, we’ve got office design on the brain lately too! This great video from Monocle documents a fascinating building renovation in Tokyo, for a company called Pasona. In creating their corporate HQ, they worked with architect Yoshimi Kono, who helped them convert their office into the greatest example of urban farming the world has possibly ever seen. Aside from looking beautiful, many of the plants end up being utilized in the company’s cafeteria, and ultimately get served up to the employees as parts of meals. Via Spoon & Tamago.
