The inimitable Bill Moggeridge, co-founder of IDEO, Director of the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and perhaps most memorably a laptop design pioneer, passed away this weekend. He was a role model not just for designers but for creative entrepreneurs, and as an early supporter of Imprint venture OMHU he will be missed dearly.
Speaking of innovation, Toys R Us is marketing a tablet for the preschool set: The Tabeo. For those of us (older than 20) who fought tooth and nail for change to spend an hour at the arcade, the news is a bit numbing.
Looks like Google’s doing some good old-fashioned PR. Google Glasses made their way to the New York Fashion Week runway with Diane Von Furstenberg.
Meanwhile in Hollywood, Steven Spielberg’s first official presentation of his much anticipated Lincoln biopic will be via Google+ Hangout, which just sounds weird. ‘Lincoln’ and ‘Hangout’ just don’t sound right in the same sentence (unless you’re a Log Cabin Republican conspiracist). Did I mention the Tabeo runs on Android?
And thank the Shinto gods Apple is not invincible. Though by the time you read this the iPhone 5 will have wiped out all its competitors forever.
