There’s nothing like a good controversy to get your name out into the market place. VW of India recently produced an ad in the Times of India, which featured the tagline “Feel the shiver of excitement?” Unfortunately, when you opened up the newspaper it began to shake… and many of the people of India likened the ad to, well, a vibrator.
But that’s not really where the controversy ends… Thanks to social media some women took to the Twittersphere to talk some trash about the ad. The reply from VW is where the trouble comes in.
VW has since deleted the tweet and said nothing more…
I’ve checked out eBay and no copies of this ad have made it on there. But I see it as a very desirable piece of memorabilia for the VW owner, so start making calls to your contacts in India.
