‘Dead Drops’ is an art project by Aram Bartholl, who cemented USB drives into public places. Four years ago, he installed four ‘Dead Drops’ around New York City, for the public to share files anonymously and offline as a simple project. Now there are over a thousand ‘Dead Drops’ worldwide and he encourages the public to make their own if they have an extra USB lying around with some tape and cement.
