Dec 23, 2015 IRIS
It’s my life’s ambition to be a professional iPhone photographer. Not really, but I do like to take really good photos with my phone. The crew at Photojojo have an amazing new lens set out that I believe is the best bang for the buck and they sent me one to check out.
The Photojojo Iris comes with 3 lenses: Wide, Macro and Fisheye – $109 for the set or $69/ea. Available now for iPhone 6/6s and iPhone Plus 6/6s, as well as Samsung S5 and S6.
After using the Iris, I found it incredibly nice to use. It does take a moment to line up the lens and remove and replace the lens. Also the mounting plate which can be left on the phone does block the flash. But as for quality, it is no doubt amazing.
As for the competition there are the cheap novelty lenses that you can find on Amazon…
Moment Lenses: Wide, Tele, Macro – $99.99/ea. Comes with a mounting plate that works with various cases and does not block the flash. Costs considerably more than the others.
olloclip: Fisheye, Wide-Angle, 10x Macro, 15x Macro – $79.99. Small lenses that really don’t compare to the larger options. Also doesn’t work with cases, though they do offer their own case that works with the clip. But it is a more portable option than the other two.
