Feb 07, 2014 Kaka’ako Agora
Around this time last year, I was in Hawaii for
POW! WOW!, and I was lucky enough to meet the good people at
InterIsland Terminal. I got to visit their amazing and versatile space
R&D, part design book store, part coffee shop, part colocation workspace, part cinema, and part gallery. After a great run of events, R&D closed recently, in preparation for InterIsland Terminal’s next big project, Kaka’ako Agora. This incredible undertaking is a collaboration with Japanese architects
Atelier Bow Wow (who are also contributors to the Imprint Venture Lab project
Architecture For Dogs) and aims to create a beautiful new public space, an indoor park and pavilion which will serve as a platform for the community to come together and work together better. The project is being funded via crowd-funding site
Kickstarter, so anyone can chip in on this amazing effort!
