Couple weeks ago, Zion I drove from the Bay to LA to perform at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach. A nice way to meet your favorite artists is by attending their performances at small local venues. It was just down the street from my house so there was no excuse not to go. Trying hard not to fan out, Baba Zumbi was standing right it front of me before hitting the stage. As soon as the DJ played the first song, there was so much energy coming from Zumbi and his friend Deuce Eclipse, everybody got on their feet and started dancing. Their performance brought back memories from high school, when all I listened to was their “Mind Over Matter” album, which is still one of my favorites till this day. After the show, I talked to him for a bit and had him sign my LP that I brought to the show. I tried my best not to lose my head that night.
