Feb 20, 2013 Once Buried Treasure
Vivian Maier was an artist, but no one knew until she was long gone. Story goes that John Maloof purchased a box of never never developed film in an auction for $380. He began developing these photos and realized that he had something special, he would do some digging and later find out her name: Vivian Maier.
Her photos remind me of the street photographers of today. They put you in a moment in time that otherwise would have just gone by and never remembered. The photos she took were that moment and you can almost feel and sense what was happening in her photos. They all leave me wanting more.
She’s had gallery shows and sells prints but her fame has been posthumous. The story of her journey to stardom has been captured into a film now, I look forward to checking it out. But till it comes out you can get more information at her site VivianMaier.com
