I guess the Golden City of San Francisco had a little extra cash to spare…because starting March 5th, the Bay Bridge will be donning a 25,000 LED filled light show for the next two years w/ a bill to the tune of $11 million. The best part? It’s funded 100% by donations from around the world and is expected to bring in a hefty chunk of change into the local businesses over this period.
The light show is actually pretty neat as it has its own algorithm that will flash patterns according to the weather, wildlife, and traffic — AKA no pattern will ever be the same. You can even add your own touch to the show by donating to The Gift of Light and customize one or more of the lights in the display.
