The book Skate Girls of Kabul is still on pre-order, but there’s already a lot of buzz about the new title. Photographer Jessica Fulford-Dobson shows the incredible story of Afghani girls who have taken up the sport of skateboarding, thanks to Skateistan, a charity which provides skate parks to get kids back into their education system. Seeing these portraits give a sense that the girls might have some hope for change, especially in a country where it’s considered taboo for women to ride bikes.
