May 30, 2014 Subtle
Imprint’s founder Julia Huang was in Tokyo yesterday to attend the Takeo Paper Show 2014 which is currently on exhibit at TOLOT in Shinonome. Presented by paper manufacturer Takeo Co, Ltd, it is an exhibition curated & art directed by Kenya Hara and his Nippon Design Center, Hara Design Institute (much like Imprint’s Architecture For Dogs partnership with Kenya Hara and Nippon Design Center). Takeo Paper Show 2014 “is an experimental exploration around the theme “subtle”, an attempt to locate the roots of the allure of paper, that enigmatic incentive to the human experience.” As with our Architecture For Dogs project, Kenya Hara has invited 15 world-class creators to use their creativity to express the theme subtle. The line-up consists of architects, designers, art directors, and animators, including Torafu Architects and Haruka Misawa, both of whom contributed to Architecture For Dogs also. It’s a relatively short one-week exhibition so unless you’re lucky enough to be around Tokyo at the moment, you might want to check out the website and/or the book!
