Thank you. #ICL2011

Thank you. #ICL2011

Thanks to everyone who Veni Vidi Vici-ed ICL 2011: NYC: What Price Architecture?

I want to personally thank:

Bernhard Karpf for his defense of Architecture.
Bill Morrish for his criticism of outpaced development.
David Allin for pointing out Architecture is uselesss until it’s not.
Sou Fujimoto for pointing out Architecture has to be “super useful.”
Especially in light of the March tsunami in Japan. #helpjapan

I also want to thank:

Jerry Hsiao for creating all of ICL 2011’s visual collateral: from invitations and posters, to the keynote presentation whose content didn’t arrive until the minutes before we went live.
Kevin Kim for suffering a soiled band-aid in a buffet-dinner (Note to NYers: Do NOT eat at Cafe28), in order to get my job done.
Tanya Raukko for making sure I did anything.
Julia Y.C. Huang for agreeing to sponsor and patronize her team of Imprinters year in-year out, despite our lack of a precise deliverable.
jeffstaple for asking the important questions. For example, “can we do that in wood?”
Tomas Alvear et al for an incredible job shooting video. He’s the fourth Chilean I have done video work with, and I swear… must be something in the Andes makes them special.
Dorothy Hong for getting better photography done in a shorter amount of time and length of roll than anyone I’ve ever seen with a camera.

Of course I’d also like to thank:

The Standard. Holy cow. Best. Service. Ever. I know I’d never make it into the Boom Boom Room without a celebrity escort, but they treated the Imprint crew like kings and queens.
Martell for continuing to sponsor our events with delicious cocktails. I encourage everyone to check out their Very Important Friends series of limited edition bottles. And try cognac… again. Now that Fernet and Old Fashioneds are in, cognac will feel like The Reveal of a nerd taking off her glasses. The hottie’s been hiding in there the whole time.
Interior Design for letting us basically rip-off their content.

And finally, thanks to everyone who attended, who caught our livestream, who drank our cocktails as well as our Kool-Aid, and please please stay tuned for videos from the event, which should be up shortly.

If you like what you get here, also watch out: We’re going to be in LA at the end of August to ask:
What Price Film?
